Well I am not Martha Stewart so things aren't PERFECT like what she'd spread out for a holiday meal. We did buffet style since there were about 15 of us. The festivities started the night before when Grammie and Savannie came to stay the night. With much argument bedtime finally did come and early morning was much too quick!
Troy made us an awesome Thanksgiving morning breakfast of fresh sausage patties, homemade pancakes and his homemade syrup! YUMMY!!!!
While Grammie, Owen, Lydia and Savanna napped I got to use meem's automatic potatoe peeler. WORKED fabulous and is on my Christmas list for hubby to get me! AsI was cutting up the potatoes for the water (to make mashed potatoes) I sliced open my finger, yelled for mom, grabbed and towel, sat down and next thing I knew I was awakened to my mom screaming at me. Id passed out! What a sissy!! Took me a little to regain my strength, but before too long everyone was arrivin, things were done and we were trapsing down the basement steps to eat. I wasn't much help for dishes, but I think that's what a dishwasher is for! ha ha
Once all the company was gone everyone settled into bed, but mommy w/an upset tummy......and awaiting my alarm to head into town for Walmart's black friday specials! Mom met me there too. I got a HUGE savings in shopping at 12a-2a that I am very pleased at. I cannot wait this year til Christmas morning. It's going to be so much fun w/the kids. :-)
Now we are preparing for Christmas with it 2 wks to the day away!!!! AMAZING!
There were 2 births this week along with birthday celebrations.
Dec. 4 Elizabeth King
Dec. 8 Sarah Huffman
AND Dec 8 Rylee Alabran- parents Jeremy and Ashley C.
grandparents are Rick & Rose Alabran!!
Dec 9 Drew P. Jenkins parents Brad and Emily
Id been debating my usual Christmas card letter, because it's so much work, printing, making sure the font looks right and is positioned right, folding it right so the ink doesnt smear, inserting them into the card, questioning myself if people really read them what they think....etc.....so with feed back....I decided to type one and put it in the blog and those who I know do not have internet or understand how to navigate, I'll print them one out.....but not too many I'll have to do. I feel a little bit more at ease. AND Ive decided that's my contribution of GOING GREEN as well as I am hand delivering ALOT of my cards this year. Crazy I know. But I am going to add the cost of savings and let you read later and prove it's worth it!!!
Troy ventured to Akron, OH today as the weather was nice, thank goodness because the both of us are sick with colds. To get a NEW MANURE SPREADER!!! I know weird right....well they got a great deal on it. He seems to be very excited about it and I will not be shocked if they're trying it out in the next day!!! ha ha ha
Lydia and Joanne will celebrate their birthday's together next weekend. I'm excited to have Kathy Ammann cake!!!! YUMMO!!!!
